I mean she was banned from the earth for a THOUSAND YEARS, so guessing on how much of a mental breakdown she had, I would say that even Twilight Snapple would call her crazy. Any thoughs?
Chill out, bro. We're all allowed to have opinions. Well, she definitely had an episode of anger and power-hungry behavior. Plus, we're all a little insane. There are just different levels.
Well...the moon IS classically associated with crazy people, hence the terms "lunatic", "looney", etc. OP may be onto something, here. Seemed pretty obvious to me. But then again, your understanding of people has always been a bit selective, now hasn't it, Rinku?
That sounds pretty accurate. I don't get human behavior. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. Ummmm, Luna. Insane. Maybe??
Well, you could say she's a LUNAti- oh, wait someone made that joke already... uhh... Well she did take a bath in a candy apple tub while talking to a mouse... Spoiler: Big image
Luna must be the sanest pony alive. Shouldn't she have been a lot more insane when coming back from the moon? Anypony else probably would have.
Well before The Moon fiasco, I imagine she was just hurt inside due to being in her sister's shadow and let her anger out in an outrageous fashion. After the moon... I'd be surprised if anyone was still sane after spending 1000yrs in such solitude. Sane or Insane, she's still best princess.
Her behavior is strange. There is the NMM thing. There is the stare she gave Twitwi at the episode about Crystal empire. There is a theory Luna was Crysalis.
Well I personally think that flat-out insanity can come from depression and jealousy. Remember, she could have been dealing with this anger for 20 or even 1000 years before she even become nightmare moon, so that could make any pony snap. By the way, I am speaking about the Luna of the past, not the present. Luna is the best princess, with Cadance second.
The insanity of Luna is a result of the war Celestia waged and the many violent worlds of combat which existed during the pre-exile fights between Luna and Celestia. Celestia's idea of punishment was wrong, just completely wrong, you don't take someone AWAY from society to help them recover. You keep them in a comfortable middle ground. Yes, Luna is insane, but her insanity is a direct result of Celestia's inability to share or relinquish any kind of control. Trollestia ruined Luna's life for 1000 years and is now keeping Luna as a pet. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see many more seemingly insane acts occur on Luna's part, simply because no matter what Luna does, if she acts up even a little, "Bam, Zoom, Straight to the moon!" That's my two cents on it. As morbid as that might seem.
Luna isn't insane. Jealousy consumed her and some form of magic perpetuated it. If you're talking about the whole canterlot voice thing, that was an embarrassment and she's resolved that issue. She wasn't aware of the changes that happened over the course of the years.
