With a sudden influx of necromancy, this thread returns once more! What gave you the inspiration for your character? How did you come up with the design?
Very good question, and one not without its complications. When I was ready to admit to "they world" even though my family already knew, that I was a brony/pegasister, I knew immiedatly after browing the MLPFs that I needed and OC to represent who I am in the fandom as well as me personally. So I looked at other OCs, watched how some ponies represent themselves, then studied up on the history of cutiemarks from G1 (which was a dead end) to the current G4. I knew I wanted my design to be a pegasus, I always was a pegasus fan, since Firefly! But since I'm intimidated by color schemes, I knew I wanted to keep it simple for future animated purposes. White as the body color with black mane. But that was borning obviously and not representing my inner personality which I suppose I could list based off friends and my inner opinion as: cheerful, funny, shy at first, friendly, bold and not afraid to be a leader, and loves to do several differet activities, adventurous etc etc. I couldn't narrow it all down, which lead to those rainbow highlights in my mane, as well as my cutie mark. The rainbow heart of my cutie mark represents all my loves in my live and world, from my hubbies to my family and friends. To complete the representation, the black lightning bolt shows my spontanious energy and strength. The strength comes from my father...who taught me never to give up in everything I set my mind to, may he RIP. Now the tail... a full blown orginal idea in my own right. I didn't like typical horse/pony tails, all fuzzy and too many things to do with it. I had insperation from previous cartoon characters I invented in the past, prehistoric horses, who had pig like tails. Naturally I exaggerated the look, added the rainbow highlights, and now it looks more like a gryphon tail for myself. The large ears are more of just to show that I love being different, even though I'm nervous others won't accept it. Despite this, I like to stand out and the large ears plus my gryphon like tail display that well. However now I'm an alicorn, with the addition I have a horn and golden hooves. This occurred back after I got married to my husband. It was a huge life change, becoming a wife and graduating college in the same year! So to represent that better, I felt it was appropriate to make my character an alicorn. Again I'm nervous about that change, but far as I can tell most ponies have come to accept it and I've not recieved negative feedback for being an alicorn, so I'm happy or grateful for that.

Summoning the courage to face my darker self... Back when I befriended a wolf named Seth...he was cursed with the Vampire Disease...and I became sick and on my death bed...forcing him to act to save my life and turning me into a vampire as well. His darker self attempted to control my dark side as well...I called her Blight. She was my darker impulses brought to life by the vampire disease... But through trails and pains I cannot begin to go through...together with the help of Princess Cadence... I absorbed my evil's ways, banished the vampire disease from my body, and saved Seth from his vampire disease as well... But it was a hard challenge...one I still wonder... that I'd probably have failed without the help of Cadence and Seth being with me the whole time.
Honestly, I must admit I am fairly envious of all the adventure you've had. In any case, tell me what an average day in life is like for you as an Alicorn. I imagine you've got some set of duties to tend to.
On what I would call a "normal day being myself" I tend to spend the day with my dragon husband. We have breakfast together and then we'll make a trip to Ponyville and do a bit of supply shopping and enjoy our day with each other. But for a routine "Princess Duty" days... I will typically recieve scrolls magically sent through my horn, informing me about treaty changes or new peace negotiations that need my look over or assistance between other sentient kingdoms, like with the Gryphons of the Eastern Empire.
Tell me a story! Tell to me of an adventure you've had. Tell me of friends you made and journeyed with and of foes you've face and vanquished! I assume you've had plenty of adventures.
Well alot of the stories are long, which would you want to hear or sum up in a short essay? How I met my husband? How I became an alicorn? How I linked my life force with my good friend now brother Skylar? How I battled with Skylar, my life linked friend, when he became corrupted by the shadow of King Sombra? How I made a truce between the diamond dogs and the Everfree Dragons of the Everfree Forest? The battle between my evil self Blight?
The tale begins... after my surprise ascention and blessings on our safe journey back to Ponyville. With my dragon husband flying us back, with me, and our friends Skylar, Callette and Polaris in toe. We were flying over an icy snow area with a few mountains...when a rogue dragon...committing an act of terrorism attacked us. We were thrown from the saddle of my husband Night Lights, as he plummeted to the earth, knocked cold from the sneak attack. Many of us were injured, but none so worse then Skylar's mare...Callette. She was thrown so violently from the attack, that Skylar feared her dead...as well as all of us. Meanwhile, Polaris along with myself, battled the evil dragon for several minutes, crying for Skylar's assistance in his lightning weather manipulation... My magic was unknown to me, and I had no means to control it. But despite an alicorn, a skilled tribal unicorn, and my injured husband...we were no match...untill Skylar snapped, destroying the rogue dragon in a death defying ray of lighting blasts. In a brute force of lightning power after his kill, he transformed...consumed by the shadow of King Sombra...a being we had encountered before outside the lands of the Crystal Empire... The shadow had survived in this evil place within an abadon dragon cave...waiting for the time to take over a broken soul...We never knew that he had latched onto Skylar's body...waiting for his strength to give way to hate. Skylar was manipulated by the shadow...and the evil of King Sombra took over him...transforming him into an evil pegasus pony with lightning powers beyond our comprehension... With Night Lights too injured...Polairs beatn from the previous dragon...I was the only one to stand up to him...and bring Skylar back to the light. But he was too strong...and I was unknown to alicorn magic...the powers within me only seemed to react out of instinct...and the need to keep the peace. But the powers of the Shadow King was far too great... I needed help... And with the power of harmony... Callette refound her strength, as did Polaris and my husband Night Lights...we combined our inner elements of our herd friendship together...and along with Skylar's inner being...vanquished the Shadow of King Sombra forever.

I love just about every genre there is in music. Though lately (this technically isn't a genre) I've been really enjoying remixes of the MLP sound tracks. But now and then I love either cheerful energetic music, to relaxing ambient. However I did ask him, if he ever got involved in the brony fandom (which he said he wouldn't) what would his pony type be? He right off the bat said pegasus. His dragon form his pony form!
I'd have to say being able to understand others and have the patience/tolerence to work with others whereas some would tend to give up. Also the strength to keep going even when things seem to get harder or worse.
